Barcelona is a renowned gastronomic destination, known for its vibrant culinary scene that ranges from traditional tapas to innovative haute cuisine. But we already know that eating can be a bit of a pain, and since we have also googled “cheap tasting menu in Barcelona”, today we have set out to find great tasting menus in the city that allow you to enjoy haute cuisine for an affordable price.
There is everything. From Greek to Catalan restaurants, more creative or more traditional cuisine and restaurants with Michelin star level. But all of them have one thing in common: they offer a tasting menu for less than 50 euros accessible (cheap, that depends on the perspective) to eat wonderfully tasting the various creations of their chefs. A small one within reach of the pocket.
Margarit
Chef Stefanos Balis offers a tasting menu of 8 dishes chosen by himself, plus a dessert to share. This restaurant promises a creative and varied culinary experience through his interpretation of Greek cuisine, allowing diners to enjoy a selection of the chef’s best dishes in this coquettish restaurant in Poble Sec. Drinks are not included in the price, allowing customers to choose their own options to accompany the meal.
📍Carrer de Margarit, 58
💸45€/person
CASA XICA
📍Carrer de la França Xica, 20, 08004 Barcelona
32€/person (short menu), 65€/person (long menu)
Pizzicato
The name Pizzicato speaks of music not by chance: this restaurant is located, no more and no less, inside the Palau de la Música. It is run by chef Luciana Russo, who makes a cuisine with Uruguayan influences, tasty and strong, with a strong presence of meat, such as the “Torrija de santa Teresa” salted with comtè cheese broth, stewed galta and smoked mushrooms and equally strong vegetarian options such as grilled red cabbage, tangerine, quince aioli, pomegranate and cured sheep’s milk cheese.
At the moment they are open only at night, and their menu consists of 5 dishes of the chef’s choice, plus a pre-dessert and a dessert, a great option to eat at the foot of one of the most beautiful modernist buildings in the world.
📍Carrer del Palau de la Música, 4-6, 08003 Barcelona, Ciutat Vella

Palo Verde
Palo Verde, close to celebrating its 5th anniversary, offers a tasting menu that compiles its most popular dishes. Chef and co-owner Ludwig Amiable presents a cuisine where almost all the dishes are grilled, managing to make a simple and creative cuisine at the same time, with the grill as a common thread.
The menu includes 5 dishes (one surprise called “Dish of the Week”), bread, and two signature desserts: Paris-Brest and rosemary panacotta. Water and coffee are also included. It is served to a full table and for multiples of 2 people. It is an excellent option to taste the best of Palo Verde, especially for first visits.
📍Carrer de Còrsega, 232, L’Eixample, 08036 Barcelona

Sintonia
Fine dining the Sintonia, and, therefore, the €50 for its 7-pass menu (oyster and dessert included) is a great opportunity to try one of the great hotel restaurants in town from this venue inside the Gallery Hotel. Stew cuisine, grilled and table service to bring to the plate as the terrine of foie gras and duck or mountain aroz with sweetbreads and mushrooms.
💸 Price: 50€/person
📍 Location: Carrer del Rosselló, 249
Amaica Restaurant
Amaica offers one of the most affordable and complete tasting menus in Barcelona. For 42€, diners can enjoy 9 dishes and two desserts, with very attractive options. The menu changes monthly: in November, for example, Aragonese sausage with eel and spinach or persimmon with green curry.
The restaurant is only open from 20:00 to 24:00, making it a perfect destination for dinner. They also offer a menu with individual dishes ranging from €1.9 to €17, allowing customers to try different options at affordable prices.
📍C/Bertrand i Serra 11, Local 1
💸42€/person
Assalto
Assalto offers a tasting menu at an affordable price of 42€ per person. We talked about their creative and sustainable cuisine in this article: their tomato bread alone, which is made with three different tomatoes, is worth it. A great option for high level cuisine and first class wines in the Raval.
📍C/ Nou de la Rambla, 44
💸42€/person
Café Kafka
8 passes for 30 euros. Café Kafka is a Borne option that offers unbeatable value for money, with varied cuisine ranging from brioche to pokes. The best part? Its terrace in front of the Born Centre Cultural, in the heart of the Borne and two steps from the Parc de la Ciutadella to take a nap after the feast.
📍C/ Fusina, 7
💸30€/person
Gurí
Gurí offers a 9-course tasting menu for 48€ per person. This Uruguayan-Mediterranean restaurant that has opened in Sants interested us a lot, with daring ideas and the presence of the Latin American country in the treatment of meat or the presence of chimichurri quite present, but always in sensitive dishes with complex ideas. An accessible option to try elevated cuisine in Sants.
📍Carrer del Rector Triadó, 72, Sants-Montjuïc, 08014 Barcelona
💸48€/person
Last Monkey
Last Monkey presents a tasting menu at 29€ per person in the heart of Sant Antoni. One of the cheapest and still one of the best, with Asian fusion cuisine, with 8 dishes from their menu and a seasonal mini-dessert, where you can try things like eggplant confit, chicken curry brioche or Korean tartar.
📍Carrer del Comte Borrell, 70, L’Eixample, 08015 Barcelona
💸29€/person
Imprevisto
Imprevisto’s menu is a little bit over 50€, but tasting by far its creative cuisine, which places it among the best restaurants in Barcelona, is well worth it. Creative cuisine with part of the team from Caellis restaurant (one Michelin star). Its gastronomic proposal is defined as proximity cuisine and based on vegetables, with a certain Italian touch of its founders.
📍 Carrer de Bailèn, 104, L’Eixample, 08009 Barcelona
💸54€/person
Windsor
Five eurillos extra that are also worth it. Windsor is synonymous with Catalan food and reference level, a classic restaurant that delves into the local cuisine to present it in a classic but elegant, clean and stripped. Good and rounded, a luxury to have a restaurant that defends the gastronomic tradition.

Jaiba, Mexican haute cuisine
Jaiba is the Barcelona branch of Roberto Martínez, the first Mexican to win a Michelin star in Europe. Here, inside l’Illa Diagonal (where Dabiz Muñoz’s Goxo used to be), Martínez has created a menu similar to that of a traditional Mexican (almost everything is tapas-able), but with elevated nods such as guacamole with fried jaibas (a type of soft-shell crab) or the secreto and marrow tacos, which come with an impressive spiced grilled marrow.
Their 35 euro menu is a tour of this menu, with different tacos and quesadillas, that good guacamole, dessert and a margarita. A good opportunity to indulge yourself with a Mexican treat.
📍Carrer de Déu i Mata, 69-99, Les Corts, 08029 Barcelona
