It is the queen of doughnuts in the United States and will soon be the queen of doughnuts in Barcelona as well. We are talking about Krispy Kreme, the popular U.S. candy chain, which will open its first points of sale in Spain in 2025, including Barcelona.
In total, the brand plans to open more than 500 points of sale in the country in the coming years, with major openings in capitals such as Madrid, Malaga and Valencia.
To this end, the company has signed an agreement with Glaseadas Originales – created eight months ago and dedicated to the retail trade of bread and bakery products – to land in Spain in a big way after France, Switzerland, Turkey and Chile.
“After a tremendous response in Europe following our successful ticket in France and the announcement to open in Germany, we couldn’t be more excited to bring the Krispy Kreme experience to Spain,” said Raphael Duvivier, Krispy Kreme’s Chief Development Officer.
The locations of future openings in Spain have not yet been disclosed, but the company has announced that it will operate in franchise format, like other large global restaurant chains.
Krispy Kreme has an international presence in 35 countries.
