After seeing hundreds of photos and videos of Candlelight, you’ve finally got your hands on a ticket to one of their wonderful concerts in Barcelona. But now what? How do you prepare for one of the most beautiful musical experiences of all time? Don’t panic, we bring you the five things you need to know before you go, from arrival time to dress code. Let’s get to it!
1. You have to go in good time
Doors open between 30 and 60 minutes before the concert begins (check yours for this information) and once the concert begins, access is no longer available. This is very important. Don’t be late, or you will miss this unique show. They say that good things come to those who wait, but take our word for it, good things always come on time, at the perfect hour.
In addition to guaranteeing access, if you arrive early, you will make the most of the evening. You will be able to admire the whole room, look carefully at the candles… and find your ideal seat! In Candlelight, seats are not assigned with the purchase, you only reserve them for a specific time zone or specific section so the earlier you arrive, the more free seats (within your zone) you will have to choose from.
2. Is there a dress code?
No, there is no dress code at any of these candlelight concerts, so please feel free to dress as you please. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and at ease, whether you want to wear your best clothes or a smart casual outfit. Besides, everything looks great on you!
3. What awaits you when you arrive
First, you will be welcomed by the concert staff, who will validate your ticket and guide you to the seating area you chose during the purchase process, explaining along the way several guidelines to follow during the show. As soon as you have settled into your seat, it’s time to relax and soak up the intimate atmosphere.
Thousands of candles will be surrounding you and illuminating the place, but you have nothing to worry about. All candles used for Candlelight concerts are LED candles for comfort — avoiding heat, burning smell and soot — and also for safety reasons. This way, the public is protected while at the same time being offered a magical setting.
4. Is it possible to take pictures?
Yes, but with some nuances. Before the show starts you can take as many pictures as you want: close up, far away, a selfie and then start again. However, as the event staff will explain to you, no photos or videos are allowed during the concert, except when the last song comes on. The musicians will let you know so that, now, whoever wants to take out their cell phone can do it and keep a precious souvenir.
5. Candlelight tickets are flexible
And what does this mean? Well, (subject to availability) date and/or time changes are allowed up to 48 hours before the start of the experience and that, on the other hand, you can request a refund in case you purchased the experience flexible cancellation ticket. Because yes, we all know that, fortunately or unfortunately, life takes many turns, but that doesn’t mean you’re going to miss your night by the light of Candlelight’s thousands of candles.
With all these tips already noted down, all that remains is for the day to arrive and enjoy an unparalleled evening at the hands of this world-renowned multisensory experience. Remember that you have at your disposal the Candlelight Gift Card to surprise on birthdays, anniversaries or any special occasion that deserves a candlelight musical evening in the the best scenarios of the city.
