Don’t worry, they are not sharks like the ones that have been appearing in Barcelona, but almost. The sharks that are expected these days in Barcelona will not be on the coast, but in movie theaters, because Steven Spielberg’s classicJaws returns to the big screen to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
The most spectacular tribute has been prepared by the Filmax Gran Via 4DX Cinemas, in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, a movie buff temple that has already earned a reputation as a meeting point for fans of sagas such as Harry Potter or Back to the Future. On August 29, 30 and 31, they will be showing the film in immersive 4DX format and have organized activities to make the experience anything but ordinary.
Life-size photocalls and moving seats.

On the days of the screening there will be two themed photocalls: one with the Amity Island sign , the fictional coastal town where the action takes place, and another with a life-size shark head. “You’ll be able to take the mythical photo of Spielberg inside the shark’s jaw,” says Roger Belso, one of the organizers. The sculpture, weighing 80 kilos and made by a master fallero with foam rubber, measures 2.20 meters long, 1.50 meters wide and 1.40 meters high.
The event is completed with collectible tickets and the raffle of a collection of Funko Pop commemorative 50th anniversary.
All the theaters that will be showing Jaws again
Although this is the most eye-catching proposal, it will not be the only one. Between the end of August and mid-September, Jaws will also be screened again in Barcelona’s leading cinemas such as Mooby Aribau, Yelmo de La Maquinista and Phenomena, among others.
