Yesterday, when the first firecrackers were already exploding around the city, Barcelona dawned under a summer rain that we have already learned to appreciate. In this crazy weather, June has been not the beginning of summer but the arrival of the rains, and that’s why many are looking at the sky wondering: will it rain on the night of St. John’s Eve 2024?
This year the 24th falls on Monday, so on Sunday night there will be many outdoor dining and bonfires and people throwing firecrackers in the street the festival may be watered down by rainfall in different parts of Catalonia. We review the weather forecast for the next few days to let you know if it will be time to take out firecrackers or umbrellas.
Possible rain over the weekend

After the midweek rains , Friday has dawned clear in Barcelona, and will remain so, although with a slightly unstable atmosphere due to a pocket of cold air in southern France, which may cause some wet winds or some occasional cloudiness or showers.
Saturday, however, will be partly cloudy on the coast and pre-coastal areas, with wet winds in the Girona area and increased cloudiness in the Pyrenees, Pre-Pyrenees and inland areas. Rainfall will be moderate in the eastern Pyrenees, the Transversal Mountain Range and the Montseny. However, in Barcelona the weather will be mild, with a minimum of 19°C, a maximum of 27°C and a very low probability of rain.
Verbena de San Juan on June 23rd: Will it rain in Barcelona?

On the night of the 22nd to the 23rd, some irregular and local showers will form in some points of the coast, especially in the Gràrraf and Baix Empordà. On Sunday, June 23 those light showers may remain, but everything indicates that they will tend to disappear towards the afternoon.
Thus, the night of San Juan is expected to be quite stable in Barcelona, with low clouds in the eastern half of Catalonia and in the Pyrenees. However, some moderate and local showers may fall in parts of the central coast. In general, the temperature will be pleasant and it will not be too hot. As on the previous day, the minimum temperature will be 19°C, maximum 27°C
Around midnight the temperature will be around 20ºC on the coast, between 10 and 14ºC in the valleys of the Pyrenees and around 15-18ºC in the interior.
Finally, on the 24th, San Juan, there will be some uncertainty, although it is expected that instability will decrease and temperatures will rise to bring us closer to more seasonal climates.
