November is a month of transition and change, a month when we leave behind shorts and afternoons on the terrace and welcome blankets and hot chocolate. But November also brings plenty of things to do, some of which showcase the best of our cuisine, such as the countless food, artisan, and cultural fairs and markets scattered throughout Catalonia.
Towns throughout the region, especially in inland areas, celebrate the season for products like chestnuts, mushrooms, and game meats. Other types of fairs are also organized, such as Lleida Retro, dedicated to the exhibition and sale of vintage and collectible items.
In a season like fall, when the forests turn shades of brown and gold, we feel the urge to escape to the countryside and visit some of the country’s most beautiful places. Taking a trip to a natural or cultural site and combining it with one of these events can be the perfect finishing touch to a perfect weekend.
