The Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya has put the area on red alert since seven in the morning. After passing through Tarragona yesterday, leaving flooded areas, the DANA has given way to another front before being diluted, and now the heavy rains have moved since early morning to the regions of Vallès Occidental, Bages, Barcelonès, Maresme, Vallès Oriental and Moianès.
Although the alert is expected to go from red to yellow in the coming hours, concern is at its highest because the rains have been joined by strong gusts of wind. The most intense gusts are over the sea, but are also affecting the territory in the form of localized torrential rains.
Traffic situation around Barcelona
The situation on the roads is of intense circulation because the AP7 is cut at the height of Atalfulla and Aldea, also adds the cut in the A-27 in Valls by landslides. The authorities recommend avoiding travel in all affected areas and extreme caution.
In Castelldefels the streets are already flooded with water and all municipal activities have been suspended until 3 pm.
The storm appears to be moving rapidly northward.
