This summer 2024 Barcelona’s museums will be programming more than 200 cultural activities ranging from small concerts to evening tours and new exhibitions on history and contemporary art.
Among the exhibitions to be inaugurated are “Arquitecturas en transición”, at the MUHBA Oliva Artés, and “Una ciudad desconocida bajo la niebla. New images of the Barcelona of the neighborhoods”, at MACBA.
The “Born de nit” itineraries, the “Vespres musicals” at the Monestir de Pedralbes, the “Nits Màgiques” at Casa Batlló, and the “Quiz Summer Tour” game are other classic proposals that will return this summer. In total, some 200 activities have been programmed, many of which are aimed at family audiences.
Visitors can explore itineraries such as “Born de nit” and participate in classic events such as the “Nits Màgiques” at Casa Batlló, with options adapted for family audiences.
The Program will also include the exhibition “INTRAMURS: El tiempo que habita el Archivo” at the Archivo Histórico de la Ciudad de Barcelona, which transforms historical images into a dynamic visual installation that captures the past and present of the city.
The DHub and MACBA will present new exhibitions that explore diverse architectural and urban themes, offering unique perspectives on the life and construction of the city.
In addition, the Royal Monastery of Santa Maria de Pedralbes will host the “Vespres Musicals”, a series of concerts that combine music with the serenity of its historical surroundings. The Picasso Museum will program family activities and the Liceu will host contemporary operas.
Summer in Park Güell
One of the focal points of this program will be the Park Güell, which will begin its summer cultural program on Thursday June 27, organized in collaboration with the Museu d’Història de Barcelona (MUHBA). Under the title “MUHBA & Park Güell: Music, Radio, Barcelona”, the Program will pay tribute to the legacy of Josep Anselm Clavé, founder of the choral movement in Catalonia, and the Barcelona filmmaker Ventura Pons, who passed away earlier this year.
Highlights include concerts, film screenings and guided tours, which can be consulted at this link.
