The Generalitat de Cataluya will soon open a new call for rental subsidies aimed at young people, financed with funds from the autonomous government. This measure will complement the state aid of the Bono Alquiler Joven 2025.
This call will be aimed at those young people who have not applied for the Bono Alquiler Joven or who have been denied, as recognized by the Generalitat in a statement.
The aid will be granted through a system of competitive concurrence by points, which will allow to prioritize and evaluate all applications based on weighted criteria, such as the income of the living unit and the economic effort that represents the payment of the rent.
In the case of the Bono Alquiler Joven, the grants are given in order of applications until the funds are exhausted, as long as the requirements set out in the call for applications are met.
These new Catalan subsidies will have a variable character, and will range from a minimum of 20 euros to a maximum of 250 euros per month. The objective is to adapt the amount to the economic situation of each applicant and to guarantee a fairer and more equitable distribution of the available resources.
The Generalitat will soon announce the specific details of the call for applications, as well as the deadlines and requirements for submitting applications.
The new aids announced by the Generalitat could be based on those already granted to people between 36 and 64 years of age. These grants offer similar amounts of between 20 and 200 euros per month.
In the aforementioned call for applications, the maximum rental amounts allowed to access this economic support were taken as a requirement, which were 900 euros for dwellings in the area of Barcelona and metropolitan area or 750, 700 and 600 euros in Girona, Tarragona and Lleida, respectively.
