From Monday, October 13, single and airport tickets will finally be integrated into the T-Mobilitat system, as announced by Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB).
This means that, from that date, sporadic metro or bus users will be able to buy these tickets in the new cardboard T-Mobilitat format, an anonymous, rechargeable and reusable card that is validated without contact.
However, the first time this type of ticket is purchased, an additional 1 euro will have to be paid for the physical support, in addition to the price of the single or airport ticket.
Once used, the same card will be used to charge other tickets such as the T-Casual, T-Familiar or T-Grup, both in the automatic metro machines and through the TMB app.
In the coming weeks, it will also be possible to validate directly with the cell phone thanks to the T-Mobilitat digital wallet, which will allow to completely dispense with the physical support.
This innovation seeks to improve the experience of people who use public transport on a one-off basis and takes another step towards the complete digitization of the metropolitan transport system.
