The Autoritat del Transport Metropolità (ATM) of Barcelona, in collaboration with TMB, will distribute from this week 75,000 new free cloth covers to carry the T-Mobilitat card, designed by illustrator Sonia Pulido, winner of the National Illustration Award in 2020.
Public transport users will be able to get one of these design covers for free when purchasing a new T-Mobilitat card, a T-16 or when requesting a duplicate. Delivery will be made at T-Mobilitat and transport operators’ service points in the Barcelona area while stocks last.

This initiative gives continuity to the one launched in 2024 with artist Òscar Medina to produce synergies with local creators, in addition to promoting the use of more sustainable materials.
The new cover model, made from fabric and cellulose, saves nine tons of PVC per year and reduces emissions and water consumption by 50% during its manufacture, according to ATM in a press release.
The artist Sonia Pulido, who has published in media such as The New Yorker, The New York Times or La Vanguardia, has created three different designs that, when joined together, represent a complete scene of a person moving on public transport, on foot, by bicycle and skateboard.
There are also keychain ribbons for children

In addition to the sleeves, the collaboration includes the production of 10,000 key-ring lanyards designed for children to hang their T-16 card on and reduce losses.
These ribbons will be given free of charge to families who come to pick up a T-16 at the T-Mobilitat Center, located at Avenida de la Granvia de L’Hospitalet, 16-20.
