Every summer, we tend to fall into the trap of habit, repeating the same plans and destinations as in previous years out of fear of trying something new or simply out of laziness. This mistake leads us to turn our days off into a sort of seasonal routine and prevents us from enjoying options that are just as good—or even better—than what we’re used to.
The same thing happens with amusement parks: Illa Fantasia, Tibidabo, Marineland, and PortAventura are the first names that come to mind—and often the last as well. That’s exactly why today we’re introducing you to a water park that isn’t as well-known, but is one of the best in the entire country.
AquaBrava, located two hours from Barcelona in Roses (Girona), is a water paradise featuring 6,000 square meters of pools, 28 different attractions including water slides, whitewater rivers, wave pools , and even a climbing area. It’s one of the best water parks in the country, combining fun for kids with extreme activities for the bravest visitors.
The park is divided into four interconnected areas:
- The Extreme Zone, a complex of slides up to 125 meters long and 17 meters high, jump walls with a maximum height of 5 meters, and attractions where adrenaline reigns supreme.
- The thrill zone, with slides and rapids where acceleration and excitement are at the heart of the experience.
- The children’s area—a huge complex of pools and attractions designed for kids, featuring an adventure theme with mini-slides, climbing structures, and tube rides.
- The relaxation and amenities area, a wave pool spanning over 5,000 square meters, and lawns and green spaces so vast that they’ve developed their own biodiversity.
Despite the rest areas and green spaces, picnics and bringing in outside food are not allowed. The park has its own bars and restaurants where you can eat or enjoy a soft drink or ice cream.
A one-day ticket costs €40 for people taller than 1.20 meters and €23 for those between 80 cm and 1.20 meters tall (or those 65 and older). Children under 80 cm tall get in for free. The park is open daily through September 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
