There are mornings when the sky still has that cool, still hue of dawn, even as the city begins to stretch, getting ready to getgoing. Starting September 14, that early awakening will be accompanied by a key change on the platforms: Granada will add an AVE train connection to its schedule, departing for Barcelona first thing in the morning.
To accommodate this new route, Renfe has decided to adjust the schedules of several services that regularly connect the two cities. It is precisely this operational reorganization that will allow passengers to start their day in the south and end their journey by getting off on Catalan tracks past midday.
A New Schedule for Passengers
With this update in place, the new schedule stipulates that passengers will begin their journey by departing from the Granada station at exactly 7:55 a.m.From that moment on, the high-speed train will travel nonstop until its official arrival time at the Barcelona Sants terminal at 2:54 p.m.
The launch of this morning train is not an isolated change but rather part of a broader logistical adjustment by the company. To accommodate this new early-morning departure, the company will reconfigure the frequencies of various trains currently operating on the corridor linking the two capitals, thereby reorganizing the daily service connecting the two cities.
