Like any major train company or airline, Renfe also has its own points program. Perhaps you didn’t know it, but the public company has introduced changes starting this summer that will allow you to save more on AVE, Avlo, Larga Distancia, Avant, and Media Distancia and Rodalies train tickets.
Until now, the Más Renfe loyalty program only allowed the accumulated points to be redeemed to pay the full amount of a ticket. If you did not have enough points, you could not use them.
Since July, this has changed: you can now request discount vouchers equivalent to the accumulated points, even if they do not cover the full price of the ticket.
Thanks to this improvement, frequent flyers will be able to save from a few euros to the full value of the ticket. In addition, the vouchers can be given as a gift to someone else, so that they can travel using your points.
How much are Renfe points worth?

Approximately, 10 Renfe points are equivalent to 1 euro. For example, for every 50 € of purchase in AVE trains through digital channels (web or app), 15 points are generated for customers of the basic level (Más Renfe Clásica), up to 40 points for those of the highest level (Más Renfe Platino).
How to consult and redeem your Renfe points?

Log in to your Private Area and access the “My Points” section. There you can request your discount voucher, which will be generated immediately.
In addition, these points can be redeemed for hotels, car rental or donations to NGOs of entities collaborating with Renfe.
How to sign up for Más Renfe?

Register for free on the Renfe website. You will be assigned a member number that you must always specify in your bookings to accumulate points. These will be credited to your account once you have completed the trip.
