He came, he came back and he triumphed. This is how the saying could be adapted to Bravas Fest, a festival that has made valid the saying that simple ideas are the best by taking the most popular tapa in Barcelona, the bravas, and turning it into an event that, in its third edition, has attracted more than 30,000 people.
The Bravas Fest has occupied from October 4 to 6 the Poble Espanyol with 14 restaurants that, between them, have cooked ten and a half tons of patatas bravas, that is, about 42,000 servings. In addition, the restaurants served more than 15,000 servings of the tapas they offered to accompany the bravas and some 25,000 liters of Mahou beer, sponsor of the festival.
The three best bravas of Catalonia
The festival, which has become a meeting point for lovers of patatas bravas, culminated, like last year, with the awarding of the three prizes (jury, public and honorable mention) that recognize the best bravas of the year in Barcelona and Catalonia.
On this occasion, the Jury’s award, made up of influencers like Rafuel or the same members of Barcelona Secreta, went to Rooster & Bubbles, a restaurant in the Borne with a proposal of chicken a l’ast and cava, which prepares a bravas of Monalisa potato with aioli and Shichimi Togarashi with a quite differential flavor.
The Audience Award went to a new participant, Xinvic, a gastrobar of creative and traditional cuisine located in the old town of Vic, with some bravas that stood out with a topping of beef, onion and lime.
The special mention went to
So there you have it, just as last year you had the route of the best bravas of 2023, this year you can resume the route touring the best bravas of 2024.
