Starting this Saturday, April 12, the V19 bus line that connects Barceloneta with Plaça Alfonso Comín will operate with three different routes during weekends and holidays.
This measure seeks to reinforce the service in the sections with more demand, especially around Park Güell and the maritime area, and to decongest others that do not require so much passenger traffic.
With the incorporation of up to 8 additional vehicles, two partial services will be created in addition to the usual route, improving frequency and avoiding congestion along the line, announced Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB).
One of the reinforcements will cover the northern section between the stops Praga – Ronda Guinardó (Metro Alfons X) and Avenida República Argentina (Metro Vallcarca), between 10:00 and 18:00 hours with four standard 80-seater buses.
The second reinforcement will focus on the southern section, between Paseo de Sant Joan – Còrsega (Metro Verdaguer) and Plaza Rosa dels Vents (Barceloneta area), with four articulated buses of greater capacity (120 seats), operating from 10:00 to 21:00 hours.
During the first days there will be information personnel and special signage at the affected stops.
TMB recommends that users pay attention to the signs on the front of the buses to ensure that the vehicle is heading to the desired destination.
In 2024, the V19 line carried more than six million passengers, 10% more than the previous year, with an average of 19,000 validations on weekdays, 14,000 on Saturdays and 12,000 on public holidays.
