Walking along the Diagonal can often turn into an obstacle course. Between cyclists and runners we believe that at some point in the day it can get busier than La Rambla, and we’re not kidding.
And is that the running, or go out to run of all life, is an easy sport to practice in the middle of the city. You don’t need much equipment, beyond a pair of running shoes and sportswear, and Barcelonaoffers routes for all levels.
So if you’re a fan of this sport and you’re on Strava all day, you’re in luck, since the Cursa de La Mercè Bimbo Global Race, a race that passes through the most emblematic places in the city, is back.
The race will be held on Sunday, September 29, will start at 8:30 a.m. and will run through much of the center of Barcelona.

La Cursa de La Mercè Bimbo Global Race 2024 will have 3 routes: one of ten kilometers for the most trained, one of two for those who are just starting out and a small family route.
- La Cursa de 10 km will go from Plaça Espanya to Passeig Sant Joan along Gran Vía, down to Lluís Companys and from there to Plaça Catalunya along Ronda de Sant Pere. Once there, it will take Ronda Sant Antoni, at Plaça Universitat, to return again to Plaça Espanya.
- The 2 km one will not take such a long lap and will leave from Sepúlveda with Compte Borrell and go along Paral-lel until it reaches Avda. Mª Cristina.
- The family route is almost 2 kilometers long and will leave from Avda Maria Cristina, continue along the Paral-lel to Carrer de Lleida, continue along Passeig de Santa Madrona to Avenida de Rius i Taluet passing by Carrer de la Guàrdia Urbana.

If you have not yet registered, but you want to participate in the Cursa de La Mercè Bimbo Global Race 2024 you are still on time. Of course, once the 12,000 athletes are reached, registration will be closed.
The race has a price of 5 euro s which does not include the mandatory chip to compete.
