Tomatoes grown 20 minutes from Plaça Catalunya and olive groves to make olive oil that you can reach by metro. These are just some of the products that “DeCollserola” brings together , the brand of products that seven farmers from Collserola have created to sell products of authentic proximity in the city.
In this way, now products such as tomàquet mandó de Collserola and mongetes de ganxet del Vallès, but also oil from Can Calopa, wines or honey, as well as products from local artisans who make beer, kombucha and cookies, all produced within the city limits, can be purchased with just one click.
This collective effort is part of the Alimentem Collserola project, initiated in 2016 by the Consorci del Parc Natural de Collserola together with the cooperative Arran de Terra, which seeks to boost agroecology in the mountains and create networks among producers.
They themselves remind us that the growth of cultivated land in Collserola not only provides local products, but also acts as a natural firebreak, helping to prevent forest fires. In addition, these open spaces are crucial for maintaining biodiversity, providing habitats for species emblematic of the Mediterranean climate.
