Not everyone knows this, but Barcelona can boast of having the only UNESCO-recognized music auditorium in the world. Its impressive mosaics, sculpted figures, and, of course, its spectacular inverted glass skylight are what make the Palau de la Música Catalana one of the greatest gems of Modernism in Catalonia.
But its interior harbors a well-kept secret: the Petit Palau. Much more intimate and cozy, this auditorium was designed over a century ago by Lluís Demènech i Montaner (just like the rest of the complex). And now that space is illuminated by thousands of candles to host a series of Candlelight concerts dedicated to Disney’s timeless soundtracks.

Petit Palau: the Palau’s underground treasure
Literally beneath the Palau’s main hall (specifically 11 meters below), the Petit Palau lies hidden. It opened its doors in 2004 with a clear goal: to become a more intimate musical venue without altering the architecture of the original building in any way. And that is exactly what it has remained.
An intimate venue whose atmosphere and excellent acoustics make it an ideal space for hosting chamber music concerts. Not just Mozart or Vivaldi (though they’re included), but more contemporary tributes like the one we’ll be able to experience in the coming months, dedicated to Disney. And when you add the classic Candlelight aesthetic—with thousands of candles—the result is inevitable: an ideal world.
What to Expect from This Romantic Disney Night in Barcelona
Yes, romantic. Because this concert’s program is designed to bring together, in a unique way, those classic songs that made us believe in love when we were little. “Married Life” by Up, “En Mi Corazón Estarás” from Tarzán, the theme song from Beauty and the Beast… melodies we grew up with and that we’ll now get to experience live: in a magical way.
The lineup includes both classic films like *Aladdin* and *The Lion King* and more modern ones (*Coco*, *Tangled*…). The result? An event for both those who grew up with Disney and those who discovered it a little later.
