Whoever goes to see a play at the Teatre Grec for the Grec Festival once, will come back for a lifetime. The cool sunsets in the most beautiful theater in Barcelona are the welcome to summer, and listening to music concerts or theatrical performances on that stage carved in stone and surrounded by trees with views over the city is one of the accessible privileges of Barcelona. Imagine being able to eat in the same space while watching the sun set over Tibidabo.
Imagine doing so, moreover, taking advantage of the fact that the restaurant that allows it only opens for 33 days a year, the length of the theater festival. We are talking about Farm to Table, the gastronomic proposal of the Grec that, this year, is again installed on the theater offering what must be the most beautiful terrace in the city during the summer.
Farm to Table, the restaurant that only opens 33 days a year.
For some years now, the Grec has been offering a gastro proposal to complement the plays and concerts that take place in the stone theater of Montjuïc. This year Farm to Table is run by the restaurant Casa Xica and managed by Eat Street, and is installed, once again, on a terrace that allows beautiful views over the sunset behind the Tibidabo.
On the menu, two tasting menus for 38 € (vegan and carnivore), with good level, drinks(short and accessible menu, with some non-alcoholic wine) and a very attentive service. But the protagonist is the place. For this reason, the white and spaced tables all look towards Tibidabo, where the sun burns when it sets while some drink the welcome cocktail, a rebujito from Seville that tastes like summer.
At the table, simple and accessible dishes: ajoblanco with good tomatoes, a good terrine, pasta with seafood or brioche with bacon. Good desserts with cheesecake and raspberry ice cream. On the vegan side, eggplant terrine and chickpea curry.
When Farm to Table opens
The proposal will be open to both the public of the festival and anyone who wants to come to Montjuïc. There are two dinner shifts: from 8 to 9:30 pm, reserved for those attending the show, and from 10 to 11:30 pm, open to everyone. On days when there is no program, only a single shift will be offered at 8 pm.
