Mundo Pixar
The official expo dedicated to the magical animated universe of Toy Story, Inside Out, Ratatouille and company arrives in Barcelona. It is an immersive experience where we can visit up to thirteen sets of the company’s most famous films and have fun and pose with the most iconic characters, from Woody and Buzz Lighyear to the emotions of Inside Out, through the cars of Cars or the endearing protagonists of Coco.

Bubble Planet
If there is a place in Barcelona to forget your worries and let yourself be carried away by fantasy, this is Bubble Planet. Tarantos flamenco shows
Since 1963 it has been offering flamenco shows every day of the year at its mythical venue in Plaça Reial, and far from being tourist traps these are high quality shows that every Barcelonian should enjoy at least once in a lifetime. Singing, dancing and guitar playing come together to make us enjoy new artists and others with decades of duende behind them.

Sitges Film Festival
One of the most anticipated events for Catalan moviegoers, just half an hour from Barcelona: the most famous festival of our land, a week and a half of much more than horror films and zombie walks. This year’s line-up includes some of the sensations of other festivals, such as Coraline Fargeat’s The Substance, the new releases from established creators like Steven Soderbergh, the best of the national genre, retrospectives of historical films and screenings of recent phenomena like the third part of Terrifier.

In-Edit Festival
An ode to music, documentaries and great protagonists of the cultural scene, each year full of cinematic gems inspired by some of the most legendary artists. This year, for example, we will be able to enjoy documentaries about the international bands Blur, Simple Minds or The Rolling Stones or others based on local culture, such as one about the Barcelona metal scene and another about the iconic Sala Zeleste, among others.

America’s Cup Experience
October is the final stretch of the America’s Cup in Barcelona. If we are still curious to know all its ins and outs and learn more about its teams, the Port Vell has an official exhibition that will be held until the end of the month. With a virtual reality experience and a film projected in IMAX, this is a playful and enjoyable way to approach this sporting event.

Candlelight: Halloween classics
Although in Catalonia we have the Castanyada, there are more and more of us who, without losing sight of our old tradition, are joining the Halloween bandwagon and spooky plans. The Candlelight saga does so too, with two candlelight concerts in which we can enjoy scary music (such as Michael Jackson’s Thriller ) and soundtracks from iconic films and series such as The Addams Family, John Carpenter’s Halloween or Stranger Things.

Barcelona Jazz Festival
The most important jazz festival in the city has dozens of concerts scheduled in different venues around the city to delight music lovers in general (since the label “jazz” is huge). Judit Nedderman, Barcelona Jazz Orquestra, Miguel Poveda, Andrea Motis, Vicente Amigo…. The roster of soloists and groups of stature is infinite and extends until spring 2025.

With the slogan “tomorrow is everything” is presented this event that turns Barcelona into a large agora to reflect on issues that affect us all. Combining debate with more artistic formats, this year’s biennial will feature Nobel laureates like Herta Müller, filmmakers like Elena Martín and Carla Simón or theater professionals like Wajdi Mouawad and Oriol Broggi, among other leading figures in thought and the arts.

Barcelona’s biggest event for lovers of singing, dancing and guitar playing. Ciutat Flamenco is a music festival that will feature performances by great flamenco artists such as David Leiva, Lucía Beltrán or Matías López ‘El Mati‘; but it will also host a free congress on the genre and the II Certamen de Guitarra Flamenca Miguel Borrull, where this year’s four finalists, great promises of this style, will play.

Asian Film Fest
Casa Asia organizes one more year this festival entirely dedicated to the cinematographies from all over Asia: South Korea, India, Thailand, China, Japan, Iran… A unique opportunity to see recent films that will rarely be released in commercial theaters. Although the venue of the festival will be the Girona, the festival will start at the iconic Phenomena, with the screening of Citizen of a Kind, a South Korean film that has been a hit in its country of origin.

Fira Internacional del Disc
In times of streaming, buying vinyl or CDs may seem like an act of rebellion… or not so much; and is that year after year the Record Fair brings together thousands of people eager to complete their music collection, either to support their favorite artists or get hold of authentic classics. In addition, attendees can enjoy book presentations and other activities related to music, especially rock.

Exhibition Geisha – Samurai. Memòries del Japó
An exhibition that, through 200 works of ukiyo-e, shows us the exciting life of Japan in past centuries and all its strata: samurais, geishas, people of the arts, politicians… In addition, this sample of pictorial art is complemented by numerous objects of the nineteenth century among which are samurai armor, kimonos, objects and photographs. A great overview of a fascinating culture.

A festival dedicated ONLY to patatas bravas? Yes, it will be in Poble Espanyol, and will feature for three days with the best selection of this delicacy, served by several restaurants in Barcelona. 48h Open House Barcelona is an architecture festival organized by the association of the same name, whose purpose is the dissemination of Barcelona’s architectural heritage. The festival is free and takes place in several cities of the province with more than 2500 activities and visits. Serializados Fest
The festival for series lovers is back. In this year’s edition, different national series (for example, Yo, addicto or Celeste) and international (such as Truelove or Kafka) will compete for the award of the event and their creators or artistic directors will attend so that the audience can learn more about their creations. A highlight will be the presence of an audiovisual great , Thomas Vinterberg, who will exclusively present the series Familias como la nuestra and will give a masterclass, as well as other renowned creators.

Exhibition 100 objects d’IKEA que ens hagués agradat tenir a VINÇON
Vinçon was a decoration store well known by the locals. Although it closed in 2015, many still remember it fondly and for them this exhibition is ideal, which creates a dialogue between objects from this brand and others from the well-known Scandinavian chain. A must-see for fans of design that lets us loose the question of what would have happened if the global brand had been this one with Catalan roots.

Biennial Manifesta 15 Barcelona
This biannual festival, nomadic and decentralized, passes this year through the province of Barcelona. A theater festival that achieves the crucial role of offering a space for freedom of expression through art, creativity and the street. In addition to performances, this year’s edition has several workshops to enjoy art while we reflect.

BAUM Fest
The once known as Tattoo Expo has been renamed, and nowadays, in addition to having everything related to tattoos is a fair of street art, extreme sport and custom culture. An exhibition to raise awareness of how human action affects marine ecosystems and how, from design and innovation, this negative effect can be reversed. This exhibition takes a disciplinary look, covering the issue from the perspective of architecture, fashion, technology, speculative design or urbanism; suitable for professionals or students of these subjects but also for inquiring minds.

Panoràmic Festival
Panoràmic, a decentralized festival (in addition to the city, it will have events this month in Granollers and in November in Terrassa), is an event that combines film, photography and art and makes us reflect on the current situation of society and geopolitics. This year’s theme is “Extremes”, referring to the extreme violence and totalitarian ideologies of the accelerated twentieth century and the economic and social paradigm shifts of the twenty-first century. It will feature exhibitions, talks and different activities for primary and high school students.
