This 2024 in Barcelona we celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Taller de Músics, a multifaceted center of artistic and cultural activity that is an international benchmark. Far from being just a music school, the Taller de Músics is an institution with a lot of weight for the whole city and the first proof of this is its anniversary that, among other activities, will become a party in the Raval for five consecutive days.
From May 13 to 17, the 4th edition of the Raval Sessions will take place in this neighborhood, a series of free concerts that aim to provide a space to young talents music while contributing to the revitalization of the area.
The musical performances will be divided between two stages, one outdoors on Requesens Street and the other in the Taller de Músics 24 hall, inside one of the school’s premises. These will feature a wide variety of musical projects, with genres ranging from Latin and jazz to Pop and Flamenco. In addition, in the last concert of each day, the teaching staff of the Taller de Músics will be the protagonist.
More than 30 free concerts
The concerts will begin between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., depending on the day, and will end between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. Some of the highlights of the Program are the TM Young Big Band, which has 23 musicians in its project, or TM ESEM Big Band, an ensemble of 19 musicians.
If you want to check the complete Program with all the musical projects that will be playing by hour and day, you can do so here.
Tickets will be free for all concerts, but while the open-air stage on Requesens Street will have free access, the Taller de Músics 24 hall will have limited seating depending on availability.
In addition, as every year, the Raval Sessions will be dedicated to the guitarists Riqui Sabatés and Joan Vinyals, both closely linked to the Taller de Músics. The first, for his years of training in this center and the second, for his role as a guitar teacher for more than twenty years.
