That Barcelona has been looking like London for weeks is an evidence and we all have already bought the umbrellas that we will not use again in months. Not only that, but we have also been glued to the updates of the state of the reservoirs waiting for the magic figure of 50% to appear to confirm, symbolically, the good news that we have been waiting for so many years.
And the fact is that in Catalonia the reservoirs have already reached 50%, as shown by the account @embassamentcat, which advances daily and in real time the state of the reservoirs from the open data provided by the Catalan Water Agency (ACA).
According to these data the reservoirs of the internal basins are already at 50.99%, while the rivers and streams continue to fall strongly predicting the growth of these numbers.
Will drought restrictions be lifted in Barcelona?
Despite this recovery, the drought cannot yet be considered to be over. A couple of days ago the Generalitat lifted restrictions in a good part of the country but maintained the limitations in Barcelona and its metropolitan area.
The government states that for the situation to normalize, the level of reserves should reach 60%, because the intention is not to lift restrictions and then have to impose them again in a short period of time.
Weather forecasts indicate that April could be rainy, which would increase the chances of reaching this figure in the coming weeks.
