Barcelona’s culinary proposal is buzzing like a pressure cooker and since a week ago adds a new reference on the map of haute cuisine. The restaurant Maymanta Barcelona, the proposal of chef Omar Malpartida located on the 19th floor of the Grand Hyatt Hotel, has joined the selection of recommended restaurants in the Michelin Guide in its September update, along with L’Antiquari Gastronòmic.
Just when the restaurant celebrates its first anniversary in the city, Malpartida’s proposal adds another great recognition in the city after the inclusion in the Macarfi Guide and the Sol Repsol received at its headquarters in Ibiza.
The restaurant’s proposal, highlights the guide, is “a gastronomic journey to the coast, the highlands and the jungle of Peru”, which crowns with the panoramic views offered by its terrace.

The culinary experience is based on high quality products, many of them imported directly from Peru by the restaurant itself, with an average bill of between 60 and 80 euros per person.
The menu is a journey through authentic flavors, starting with a tapas menu that includes dishes such as croqueta limeña or marrow with tartar. Without forgetting the ceviches, the guide makes special mention of the carretillero, made with different seafood and a spicy leche de tigre.

In the section of embers and wok, do not miss the anticuchero octopus with romesco sauce and the traditional lomo saltado. Among the dishes that differentiate it from other Peruvians are the corn pie with cheese and the northern seafood rice.
In desserts, a must-try is the “Mel i mató”, with coconut foam and creamy white chocolate and yuzu, and homemade ice cream.
