[News in update]
The tunnel in which Rodalies had been immersed for almost 24 hours is beginning to come to an end and the commuter train service has announced that it is beginning to partially recover service after having been suspended since today at 6 am as a result of yesterday’s blackout.
This has been communicated by the operator on its official WhatsApp channel, where it has informed of the lines that begin to operate.
Which lines are working again?
Although the circulation is not fully restored, some key routes are already operational in minimum service, and Renfe will offer alternatives by road in the sections that remain inactive.
However, Rodalies has communicated that the usual timetables cannot be guaranteed.
This is the current status, line by line:
- R1: Circulation restored between L’Hospitalet and Maçanet-Massanes.
- R2 Sud: Running from Estació de França to Cunit. There are no trains between Cunit and Sant Vicenç de Calders, but alternative road transport is available.
- R2 and R2 Nord: Minimum service restored throughout the line, although with timetable alterations.
- R3: It is running again between L’Hospitalet and Vic. The Vic-Puigcerdà section will continue without service, with buses as an alternative.
- R4: Operational from L’Hospitalet to Manresa, also with altered timetables.
- R11: Minimum service between Barcelona, Girona, Figueres and Portbou.
Free trains all day
As an extraordinary measure, the Rodalies service will be free today. The turnstiles at the stations will remain open to facilitate access to passengers during this day marked by the interruption of public transport.
Normality in the rest of the transports
While Rodalies continues to restore operations, the rest of public transport in Barcelona is operating normally: the metro, Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat (FGC), TRAM (with alterations in some lines) and metropolitan and intercity buses remain a reliable alternative to move around the city.
