While Papiol celebrates its 44th Cherry Festival, the neighboring town of Torrelles de Llobregat will host the 46th edition of its Cherry Festival this week, another of the Baix Llobregat events dedicated to this fruit. Although the festivities began on June 2, the bulk of the program will take place over the weekend of June 6 and 7.
During those days, the town will host the Cherry Market with direct sales of this local product, a craft and trade fair, exhibitions, and a culinary experience centered around cherries.
The festival will also pay special tribute to local women farmers and their role in the town’s agricultural identity.
Over the weekend, there will be correfocs for children and adults, a human tower festival, musical vermouth, and a community paella. The Zona de Barraques will host concerts and DJ sets, including a performance by Les Que Faltaband.
