Between lights, nativity scenes and Christmas plans in Barcelona There is an experience that goes beyond the festive script: sitting in a realistic trial, listening to conflicting testimonies and deciding the verdict as if you were in a real court. Yes, in the middle of December.
Christmas has many good things, of course, but we all know that those dinners that lead to CSI-worthy family interrogations… are not among them. A “Have you got a girlfriend yet?” here, a “When is the baby due?” there… and, in the background, the dreaded “What about buying a house?” that confirms that the table is one step away from becoming a full-fledged court.
Because in every family there is a division of roles: the brother-in-law who thinks he is the prosecutor, the cousin who is the defense attorney and the aunt -there is always an aunt- who hands out sentences as if she were the judge in the case.
So maybe that’s why this year we want to try a different plan more than ever. And in Barcelona, at the L’Illa Auditorium, at 325 Entença street, there is just what you need to change sides for once.
An immersive theater proposal for a different December.

We are talking about The Jury Experience an immersive theater where the room is transformed into a courtroom and the audience listens to testimonies, analyzes evidence and witnesses cross-examinations. And yes: in the end, the verdict is decided by the public with their vote.
Among the different trials available in Barcelona, one of the public’s favorites is the one that presents a case of crime of passion, although there are also millionaire robberies where nothing is what it seems or fatal accidents caused by Artificial Intelligence. The challenge is to find out what really happened among contradictory versions that don’t quite fit, something that can be difficult… except for you, with all the Christmas dinners you’ve had, you’re not lacking in interrogation experience.
Performances take place on weekends, on Saturday or Sunday, and are suitable for ages 12 and up. Tickets are on sale and have a 20% discount for Black Friday until December 1, so if you feel like an original plan this holiday season, here’s one that mixes mystery, theater and that little bit of adrenaline that gets you hooked.
