If our city can boast of something, besides having a good climate, it is its gastronomy. The kitchens of Barcelona are dyed with all the flavors, colors and shades of the world. Not for nothing, the Michelin Gala 2024 was held in Barcelona, leaving some new stars in the city, and demonstrating the importance of Barcelona in the gear of world gastronomy.

Torres Brothers Kitchen
Sergio and Javier Torres created this restaurant, which is the most ambitious of their professional career. A space located in the district of Les Corts that at the ticket is striking for its design. It is a former car workshop that OAB architects redesigned into this wonderful place. It features three ‘pianos’ or islands where the chefs prepare the dishes. As the brothers themselves say, it is “a kitchen with a restaurant, not a restaurant with a kitchen”.
It also has a Verde star for sustainability.

A smiling face (which is the restaurant’s logo) welcomes us to this space where exquisiteness is not at odds with a certain informality. Located in the Esquerra de l’Eixample, Disfrutar has the experience and creativity of three former chefs from El Bulli: Mateu Casañas, Oriol Castro and Eduard Xatruch. We offer avant-garde dishes through different tasting menus with the option of pairing.

Located in the foothills of Barcelona, a few meters from the Tibidabo train stop, is this luxurious Jordi Cruz restaurant. Awarded with 3 Michelin stars, it was nominated in the category of best restaurant by the Catalan Academy of Gastronomy in 2011. A place where the interior and exterior coexist through large windows that give a pleasant feeling of spaciousness.

Enoteca
It is the restaurant of chef Paco Pérez, awarded with two Michelin stars. An ode to contemporary Mediterranean cuisine, inspired by the food and fresh produce of the Mediterráneo: from the sea, the garden and the mountains.

Aürt
Located in the Hilton Diagonal Mar and facing the sea. Undoubtedly, one of the best locations in the city. Aürt has a particular vision of gastronomy, one with which its chef Artur Martínez has been growing and experimenting in the kitchen. All the dishes are cooked in front of the customer, from start to finish; undoubtedly, another feature that sets them apart.

Via Veneto
A classic of the city and of the good gastronomy of Barcelona. In addition, as a curiosity, it was one of Dalí’s favorite restaurants. It is seen that the Catalan painter used to arrive with an entourage of guests and organized authentic performances. Many of you may know him from his pastry shop, or even from the School. But Hofmann is also a restaurant, and not just any restaurant! It has a main room and a well cared interior design, as well as a large showcase that allows us to contemplate the kitchen.

It is located in the Hotel Monument, a few meters from another Michelin-starred restaurant: Lasarte de Berasategui. The Oria is characterized by its great dimension in height, as well as by the large amount of natural light that floods the space. And of course, there is a clear nod to Basque gastronomy.

Hisop
Located in one of the most beautiful passages of Barcelona, the Marimon, a few meters from Diagonal and Travessera de Gràcia. They offer contemporary Catalan cuisine preserving the products of our land and the flavors of traditional dishes.
Of them, the guide says “In his modern-minimalist dining room, chef Oriol Ivern proposes fresh and creative dishes that revisit the Catalan culinary tradition, always based on local seasonal products and successful combinations”.

Two Chopsticks
We jump to the gastronomic fusion in this temple located in the heart of the Raval. It is led by chefs who have worked at El Bulli. The result is a concept that pays homage to the tapa as a way of understanding gastronomy. A type of creative cuisine based on Asian gastronomy, mainly from Japan, China and Southeast Asia. They offer a tasting menu and also an extensive menu (the latter in their Sake Bar).

Enigma
The creation of Albert Adrià, brother of Ferran, second best chef in the world.. As the guide says, a singular, risky and truly unique restaurant that has regained its pulse, seeking both technical excellence and, above all, the amazement of the diner.
The discreet facade hides a fantasy interior where originality allies with the most radical design to surprise us, as the striking ceilings seem to be suspended. Adrià, betting on a single tasting menu of about 25 passes (which changes every month) in which he deploys all his knowledge, with many of his visual elaborations finished before the eyes of the customer so that he is aware of the innumerable techniques.

Xerta
It has been led by chef Fran López since 2016. Located in the heart of Eixample and in the Ohla Eixample Hotel, it is an open window to the cuisine of the Ebro Lands. A respectful proposal where the market product is elevated to a higher level and where we find rice, eel, fish and seafood, game and meats from these lands. The contemporary dishes have touches inspired by Asian and French nouvelle cuisine.

Koy Shunka
A classic of Japanese cuisine. There is also his younger brother, the Shunka. The chef at both restaurants is Hidei Matsushisa, who at Koy Shunka proved to be a more refined version. With it he won a Michelin star in 2013. An elegant space with a large sushi bar and two tasting menus, as well as a wide variety of dishes from its menu.

Quirat
Of Quirat, the guide explains that “chef Víctor Torres, recognized for his work at Les Magnòlies (in Arbúcies, one MICHELIN star), proposes with his team a modern Catalan cuisine that, always exalting local products, respects seasonality to the maximum. The simplicity is only apparent, as the dishes are full of depth and flavor, with reduced and concentrated sauces”.
For example: Oyster, ham broth, Iberian bacon and osetra caviar, free-range chicken and lobster, rice with baby crayfish… they see their dishes as small jewels, that’s why they have named their menus 18K and 24K. They have a small orchard in the same hotel.

Atempo
Another restaurant from the Jordi Cruz galaxy. Modern and spacious, with a contemporary atmosphere, which surprises the customer from the very access, as you are greeted with a glass of champagne in a small hall, you are accompanied to an area of cold room to take the first appetizer and then passes in front of the kitchen to access the elegant room, with a profusion of plants and two heights.
The proposal, based on a single tasting menu designed by the media chef Jordi Cruz, reflects a modern and technical gastronomy that aims for depth of flavor, something they achieve thanks to excellent products and extremely coherent combinations. Details? They seek a fusion between room service and kitchen service, which is why many of the dishes are finished or prepared in front of the diner.

Mont Bar
Mont Bar is riding the crest of the wave… or has jumped into the mountain of stars. The Barcelona restaurant is in luck. After his chef won the award at the Fòrum Gastronòmic al Cuiner 2022 a few weeks ago now the Michelin Guide has recognized him with his first star.
Of the restaurant, the Michelin Guide says that “it is a restaurant, with the soul of a gastrobar, which is becoming an obligatory stop for anyone visiting Barcelona. Faithful to the philosophy set by the owners, natives of the small town of Mont (in the Val d’Aran), here they work with fresh seasonal produce and proximity, taking great care of the presentations”.

Aleia
Located on the second floor of the famous Casa Fuster (today Hotel Casa Fuster), a jewel of Catalan modernism designed in the early twentieth century by D. Lluís Domènech i Montaner. In its bright dining room, with large columns flanking the incredible window and an undulating ceiling that reminds us of the titanium plates of the Guggenheim Bilbao, you can taste a unique tasting menu (short or long option), current-creative cut, where the chef Rafa de Bedoya from Jerez.

Suto
In Suto cooks Yoshi Suto, a young Japanese chef who has cooked all over the world and, among others, in prestigious restaurants such as Azurmendi, Quique Dacosta, Enigma or Disfrutar itself. Here, Suto is a former bar that has been converted into a small gastronomic hermitage (16 diners) serving book-style Japanese cuisine.

A suburban restaurant, in several senses. It is on the outskirts of Barcelona, on the outskirts of the usual prices and therefore, on the outskirts of what we consider a usual Michelin restaurant. The owner couple, with Víctor Quintillà behind the stove and Mar Gómez in charge of the dining room, is committed to a sustainable gastronomy that exalts local raw materials (Gallo del Penedés, Duroc pork, Xisqueta lamb, the pigeons of the Tatjé family…), with updated elaborations that take advantage of the technique in favor of textures and an enhancement of flavor and a surprising offer of menus (Tasting, Vegetable, Presentation, Lluerna…).

COME by Paco Méndez
Traditional Mexican cuisine revisited and reworked with an exclusive air, by chef Paco Méndez, awarded with a sun of the Repsol Guide this year, placing it among one of the best Mexican restaurants in Barcelona. Its name, COME, is the acronym for COmida MExicana and PaCO MÉndez, a tribute to Mexican culture as a result of the vision of its chef.

Alkimia
Located inside the historic Moritz brewery , rehabilitated as a unique gastronomic complex and with awards for its interior design. On the second floor and after ringing the doorbell, you will find two well differentiated spaces (a bistro type called “alkostat” and the Alkimia restaurant as such, located in front of the kitchen), both with attractive interior design details.
The guide explains that in the gastronomic dining room the chef Jordi Vilà proposes a fresh and modern cuisine but with deep Catalan roots, giving an enormous protagonism to fish. They present a unique tasting menu called Alkimia that evolves with the season and, under previous reservation in hunting season, another one of hunting character called Salvaje.
Ronda de Sant Antoni, 41
Slow and Low
A very personal idea of young chefs who make a very fun and complex fusion cuisine, which has grown from the discretion of a local Sant Antoni. A restaurant with a modern atmosphere that surprises for its proposal, as it shows technique, creativity and delicacy in equal parts.
It is committed to the concept of the open kitchen, so it has two bars that allow us to enjoy the creative process. They defend a traveling cuisine that combines ingredients from all over the world and sees the light in two menus (SLOW& LOW and SLOW& LONG ), showing clear influences of Mexican gastronomy but also nods to Thai recipes, with well-balanced acid and spicy touches, excellently linked sauces and a special devotion to both fish and the vegetable world.
