It premiered in 2019 and has been a success ever since. The Barcelona Night Tour Christmas Lights, the bus that takes us on a route through the city’ s Christmas lights, returns this Christmas 2023 to offer a quite spectacular tour of the city’s lights.
The bus, an adapted Bus Turístic, travels through the main streets and avenues of the city, as well as the most emblematic buildings of the city decorated especially for the holidays, such as Passeig de Gràcia, Sagrada Família, Arc de Triomf or Passeig Sant Joan, illuminated this year for the first time with lights with manga motifs.
When does the Barcelona Christmas Tour start running?
This season, the Barcelona Christmas Tour will start on November 29, from Monday to Sunday, until January 4.
The inauguration will be just one day after the city’s Christmas lights switch-on ceremony, which will take place on November 28 on Passeig de Gracia.
The route, which includes explanations in Catalan, Spanish and English, plans to make between four and six daily departures of 80 minutes, two at 6.30 p.m. and two at 8.30 p.m. from the tourist bus stop at Plaza Catalunya, in front of the El Triangle shopping center.
There will be no service on December 24th, 25th, 31st and January 1st.
What is the itinerary of the tour?
The tour will include illuminated monuments and landmarks such as Casa Batlló, La Pedrera, Passeig de Gràcia, Recinte Modernista Sant Pau Barcelona, Sagrada Familia, Passeig de Sant Joan, Arc de Triomf, Columbus Monument, Avinguda Paral-lel, Gran Via, Plaça Universitat, Roger de Lluria, Aragon, Balmes and Pelayo streets, ending back at Plaça Catalunya.
The experience of the journey can be complemented with a good musical atmosphere with the playlist of Christmas songs created especially for the occasion in TMB’s Spotify profile.
