When we take the subway every day we know exactly where it will stop and we have calculated which cars are the most crowded to avoid them and so we can sit down for a while to rest
Although this Olympic sport is very reliable for daily journeys, it often happens that we don’t know if the next train will be too full or not and we can get a surprise (especially on L4 in summer).
Now, to avoid this and to be able to better calculate our movements around the city, some graphics have been installed on the screens at the L5 stations of La Sagrera, Sants Estació and Hospital Clínic that warn us before the train arrives of its occupancy status.
The graphics show the train schematically, with each carriage drawn and, inside them, a human figure. Depending on the number of colored passengers we will know how full the next metro. carriage is so that we can strategically position ourselves to avoid crowds.
The objective of this measure is twofold, on the one hand, to improve the user experience and, on the other, to support station agents and facilitate the work of controlling passenger flows at rush hour.
At the moment, we will only be able to know it in these three stations, but it is expected that little by little this measure will be extended to the rest of lines and stops.
