Did you know that in Catalonia there is a card for young people with more than 9,000 discounts and travel insurance included for only 8.65 euros a year? It may not surprise you if you already know about it, but the Carnet Jove of the Generalitat de Catalunya, aimed at young people between 18 and 30 years old, is still active.
With offers in culture, tourism, sport, health, training, technology and leisure, it is one of the cards that offers the most for so little money.
Among the advantages are promotions such as 2 for 1 at Port Aventura, the Tibidabo amusement park or restaurant chains, as well as discounts on travel, shows, language schools and technology services.
How to apply for the Carnet Jove
The card, which since October 2024 is issued only in digital format, can be requested online through the “Carnet Jove Cat” application. Once processed, it is available within approximately 7 to 9 days.
The card can be requested online at the official website of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
Travel insurance and other discounts abroad
In addition to the discounts, the Carnet Jove includes international travel assistance insurance for up to 90 consecutive days, which is automatically activated as soon as the young person has the card, guaranteeing coverage for trips outside Spain.
In addition, the card is now valid in all European Union countries, with a total of 60,000 discounts and offers available outside the country.
The initiative is complemented by the Carnet Jove Local project, which offers discounts and specific services to participating municipalities and counties. Cardholders can check on the official website to see if their locality is part of the program.
The Carnet Jove can be used as many times as desired for most of the discounts, except in the case of the vouchers of the so-called Pack Jove, which are limited.
Beneficiaries also have a mobile application with geolocation to find the nearest offers and access the Carnet Jove Virtual.
