Lately gastro festivals dedicated to a single product are on the rise. Pizza festivals, hamburger festivals… And we can only say one thing: we love it. Because, to be honest, we can’t think of a better plan than spending a couple of days tasting our favorite foods. And it’s proven
However, there was one product that had not yet joined the party: croissants. This will no longer be the case on February 22 and 23, when the Poble Espanyol will host the second edition of Croissants FEST.
This proposal has been organized by Edu González, the head of the well-known gastronomic project BravasBarcelona, who announced the idea of organizing this festival from his own TikTok account. This would not be his first event of this style, he is also responsible for festivals such as Pizzas FEST or Bravas FEST.
Bikinis, burgers, Croissant omelettes…. more than 30 different croissants
The festival will bring together more than 15 renowned pastry shops and gastronomic establishments to offer an experience that goes far beyond the classic croissant. Hofmann, Bubó, Sacha, Takashi Ochiai, Casa Rafuel, La Porca and Les Truites are just some of the confirmed participants.
The festival will be a gastronomic and entertainment festival where, in addition to tasting the best specialties, the public will be able to enjoy live music, DJ sessions and workshops for all ages.
Each participating establishment will offer three specialties: a gourmet option that will compete in the contest, one of its classic croissants and a third savory proposal. The Croissant Fest seeks to crown the best gourmet croissant in Barcelona with two prizes: one awarded by a professional jury composed of a representative of the Barcelona Confectioners Guild, a specialized journalist and a gastronomic influencer, and another prize decided by online voting among the attending public.
During these two days the goal will be to find the best croissant in the city, both in its classic version and in its most gourmet proposal. To do this, there will be a popular jury that will be able to taste the products in the various stops of the enclosure and a professional jury, although it is still unknown who will form it.
