Almond and cherry trees

The sakura flower, as Rosalía sang in her song of the same name, is often associated with Japan, but the truth is that it is not uncommon to find cherry trees in bloom near Barcelona. Perhaps the best-known place to see this floral spectacle is Sant Climent de Llobregat, just 14 km from the capital, but it’s also worth visiting other places such as the Aitona Valley, Segrià i Lleida, or Arenys de Munt, Soses, where the cherry trees work their magic and display their white flowers across the length and breadth of the fields.
To see almond trees in bloom in Barcelona, just head to the Ribera d’Ebre, in the south of Catalonia. Around towns such as Tivissa you will find a beautiful landscape worthy of your mobile phone wallpaper. Another ideal area to enjoy these views is the Les Garrigues region in Lleida, between Arbeca and La Floresta.

Tulip

Tulips are a foolproof flower. If you want to give someone flowers, stop by any florist and buy a bouquet.They don’t have as much meaning as roses, nor are they as tacky as a pre-made bouquet. They’re perfect.
Seeing tulips in Barcelona is not difficult. Just visit Tulipmania, a tulip field in Barcelona that offers guided tours, photo shoots, and even astronomy workshops among these colorful flowers. It’s a perfect springtime activity to enjoy with friends, your partner, or your children.

Tree of love

How cool is it that Barcelona has a tree known as the tree of love? Very cool, right? It’s a plant of Asian origin that gets its name from the heart shape of its leaves.
In Barcelona, it can be found at the intersections of the Eixample district, but also in other emblematic locations around the city, such as the Jardín de la Vil·la Amèlia, Plaza del Doctor Letamendi, Diagonal Mar Park, Plaza de Joanic, and the Palacio de las Heures.

Rapeseed
The rapeseed flower may not be as well known as the others on this list, but its flowering is undoubtedly a spectacle that is well worth a trip. The most impressive rapeseed fields near Barcelona are those of Pla de l’Estany and the Empordà region.
This area is not very touristy, but locals consider it to be the Catalan Tuscany. Rapeseed is grown here to produce oil, which is widely used in cosmetics, and the fields create a spectacular yellow display that never disappoints.

Sunflower

If you’re not fascinated by sunflowers, I don’t know what you’re waiting for to become obsessed with them. They move as the sun progresses, their seeds are one of the best nuts around, and their roots can clean contaminated soil. What’s more, as if all this weren’t enough, they paint the landscape in a beautiful shade of yellow, worthy of the Pantone catalog.
There are a few sunflower fields near Barcelona, especially in the Empordà region between the Albera and Gavarras mountain ranges, one of the most beautiful areas in Girona. You can also find sunflower fields in Torrella de Fluvià and Jafre, also in Girona.

Rose
To talk about roses is to talk about Sant Jordi, and to talk about Sant Jordi is to talk about Barcelona. The city has areas dedicated to this wonderful flower where you can enjoy it practically all year round.
One of these is Cervantes Park,a must-see garden in the city that has what is perhaps the most beautiful rose garden in Barcelona. It has 11,000 rose bushes of 245 different varieties of roses, as well as sculptures, a pergola, a children’s play area, and even a ping-pong table. A perfect and very floral plan.

It is common knowledge (I hope) that poppies are flowers that grow everywhere. If you’re driving, you’ll see them on the roadside, adding splashes of color to provincial and regional roads. But, although seeing a couple scattered along the road brings a smile to anyone’s face, the real treat is seeing them in the countryside. Although it’s difficult to see large fields of these little red flowers in Catalonia, there are some poppy fields near Barcelona that are well worth a visit.
You can see poppies in Barcelona in Collserol Park, but also in the surroundings of Hostalets de Balenyà and Parets del Vallés.

Candlelight Spring
This spring, you don’t need a car, free time, or antihistamines to travel to fields and gardens to see flowers near Barcelona. Just stop by one of the Candlelight concerts of the season. During the spring months, the series of candlelit concerts has created Candlelight Spring: its cycle of tributes by candlelight, now also surrounded by hundreds of flowers.
