St. Patrick’s Day, Ireland’s national day, the color Verde, the big hats and the leprechauns have exceeded its borders years ago and is celebrated all over the world.
More and more restaurants, bars and venues are joining the celebration, but nothing like a good Irish pub with the most authentic party, the coldest beer and Celtic music. We know that pubs are the realm of the guiris, but once a year doesn’t hurt.
Craft Barcelona, the best ambience next to Jaume I
A huge hall, many types of beer, and very good atmosphere. We know that it is not enough with a pub set in the land of clovers, if not the food, music and beer is also important. One of the epitomes of the Commonwealth atmosphere of Barcelona (although we know that Ireland no longer belongs to this community) that will take you directly to the Verde fields, the glasses with drawn castles and the mud of rugby matches.
📍 Pardís Street, 4
George Payne
We start the list with the most authentic pub in Barcelona. They have one of the best fry ups (one of the most typical meals of these places) in Barcelona, and you will always find it full of English, Irish or curious, like you, with a good pint of cold beer in hand, who want to live in first person the Irish experience.
📍 Pl. d’Urquinaona, 5
Dunne’s the kingdom of Guinness
This Irish Pub and restaurant is one of the best Irish pubs in Barcelona to celebrate Saint Patrick’s (and dye your heart Verde) as it has put a lot of effort into reflecting the true Irish spirit has put a lot of effort in reflecting the true Irish spirit.
The chairs, tables and bar are made of wood, there are references to Guinness beer everywhere, they broadcast soccer… It’s made for you to stay for dinner, top it off with a few beers and enjoy live music.
📍 Via Laietana, 19
Flaherty’s Irish Pub the Irish franchise par excellence
The first establishment was opened in Seville twenty years ago and since then, they have done nothing but grow and surpass themselves, so you can celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in any of their establishments throughout the country.
It offers typical things of an Irish pub such as international food, soccer, beers and good atmosphere, but under the seal of authenticity. Highly recommended.
📍 Plaza Joaquim Xirau, s/n
Michael Collins where to taste Irish cider
Its two hallmarks are sports and music, but it also stands out for the shows it organizes (especially during St. Patrick’s week) and for having Irish cider, which is delicious.
Being in the tourist hub of Barcelona (next to the Sagrada Familia) gives you the opportunity to do the full guiri experience. First a visit to one of the most touristic monuments of the city and then join the Verde tide that will be singing Irish songs at the Michael Collins.
📍 Plaza Sagrada Familia, 4
Temple Bar Barcelona just like the one in Dublin
The Temple bar is one of those places where every time you go, some anecdote happens. The place inside is very cool, it imitates the original Temple Bar in Dublin and the prices of the beers are good for what these places usually are.
You can also dine here (their burgers are worth a try) and if you experience rugby and soccer as if you were in the stadium, you will feel at home here in St. Patrick’s.
