Premiere of The Last Days of Pompeii

This exhibition, which has already been a huge success in other cities and has even won a National Geographic award, is coming to Barcelona. It tells us what life was like in Rome at the beginning of the 1st century and how a volcano destroyed everything, in a tone that combines the educational with the entertaining. All this is achieved through immersive formats, displays of archaeological objects, and even a metaverse virtual reality experience that transports us to a gladiatorial arena. Tickets are now on sale.

The 68th edition of the International Vintage Car Rally, which brings together more than 100 historic vehicles, is an opportunity to see cars up close that are rarely seen on the road. The main day begins on Sunday with a gathering in Plaça de Sant Jaume at 10:30 a .m. and a tour along Via Laietana, Passeig de Colom, and Avenida del Paral·lel to the finish line in Sitges.

Although the full program has yet to be announced, we already know some of the films that will be screened, such as Twinless (a queer comedy that was a big hit at Sundance) and Rebuilding (another Sundance gem starring Josh O’Connor). In addition, the Ross Brothers, creators of Americana classics such as Bloody Nose Empty Pockets and Gasoline Rainbow, will be special guests and will come to present their films.

This series aims to give visibility to female talent, often overshadowed by their male counterparts. Manon Lescaut by Giacomo Puccini

Manon Lescaut is one of Puccini’s most famous operas, which tells a story of ambition, desire, and those decisions that change your life forever. The Gran Teatre del Liceu revives this gem with a visual twist by Àlex Ollé (La Fura dels Baus), who transports the plot to a raw and fiercely contemporary urban setting. The heroine Manon will be played by soprano Asmik Grigorian. Check the schedule here.

This month, Barcelona welcomes shows by established artists (from Hans Zimmer to Suede), current chart-toppers (such as Bad Gyal and La La Love You), and more indie artists such as Terno Rei and Ven’nus. Here we tell you about this and much more.
