For five years now, the City Council has been awarding the Premis Restauració to highlight the restaurants that stand out that year in the city for their gastronomic quality or sustainability. There are already several editions (these are the winners of 2022 and 2023), which has already allowed the creation of a gastronomic guide to the city that takes us through the best restaurants in Barcelona.
This fifth edition of the Barcelona Restaurant Awards has once again highlighted five establishments for their gastronomic excellence, sustainability and roots in the neighborhood, consolidating Barcelona as one of the great gastronomic capitals of the world.
The award-winning restaurants in 2024
The contest, promoted by the Barcelona City Council
since 2017, takes into account five categories: gastronomic quality, integration in the neighborhood, sustainability, room service and restoration in markets.
Based on these parameters, the jury, composed of industry experts such as Tana Collado (TV3), Eva Ballarín (gastronomic consultant) and Judith Càlix (Cuina magazine), among others, has chosen the following winners by category:
- Gastronomic quality: The award went to the restaurant Petit Comitè (Eixample), considered “an authentic gastronomic reference, where the experience is synonymous with culture and emotion”.
- Integration in the neighborhood: La Bodegueta de Sant Andreu, highlighted as a meeting point and space for coexistence in the neighborhood of Sant Andreu, thanks to a homemade cuisine that becomes memory and identity.
- Sustainability: The Rasoterra restaurant (Ciutat Vella) has been recognized for its commitment to biodiversity and commitment to the planet through a sustainable culinary proposal.
- Room service: The award went to El Passadís del Pep (Ciutat Vella), highlighting the figure of Modesto Baena for his attention to detail and dedication.
- Market restaurants: The new category awarded Hermós, fish bar, at the Mercado de la Llibertat, for its seafood proposal that combines tradition and innovation with fresh, seasonal products.
The jury also awarded honorable mentions to 7 Portes Restaurant, founded in 1836 and considered a gastronomic institution in Barcelona, and to chef Fermí Puig, for his pioneering contribution to the sector.
