The climate change is disrupting the usual weather cycles, which had accustomed us to seasons with more or less defined limits that are now more difficult to delimit. If at the beginning of the year and during the Primavera the heat and the lack of rain shook the ghost of drought now, in the middle of June, things change all at once a cold air mass arrives for a week full of rain.
It will be thanks to a DANA that, since this weekend, covers the entire peninsula leaving strong storms and even hailstorms in much of the territory. This DANA is a cold air pocket that lives surrounded by high pressure until it finally dies and is diluted among the warmer masses that surround it, or it is reabsorbed by another cold mass of similar characteristics.
Rain until Wednesday in Barcelona
In Barcelona the rains were announced on Sunday, but finally the day, sunny and slightly cloudy, only left a few summer showers at noon that accumulated about 20 l/m².
But this Monday, the rains have really taken off in the Catalan capital, leaving showers that will remain during the morning and will leave cloudy skies for the rest of the day. The Meteocat has activated a warning for heavy rainfall and calculates a moderate probability of heavy rain on the central coast and the center of the country and in some parts of the Pyrenees, with the possibility of hail in some places.
On Tuesday and Wednesday the situation will remain the same, with highs these three days of about 20ºC and lows of about 15ºC, confirming a drastic drop in temperatures of up to 6ºC compared to Sunday, in just 24 hours.
As of Thursday, June 13, temperatures will begin to rebound, although the exact terms of this weather improvement are not yet known.
