Don’t go in the water or you’ll get a digestion attack! One of the maternal phrases par excellence is the symbol of a childhood where eating and bathing went hand in hand in summer. In adulthood the custom is often lost, and finding yourself freshly eaten in front of the water is no longer so common.
Luckily, a handful of restaurants with swimming pools in Barcelona allow us to recover the beautiful custom of filling our bellies and refreshing ourselves before and after. Seeing a table next to a sun lounger is a sign of happiness, and although it may seem that in the city there is no place for water, we show you in this list that this is not so, and that the best thing to do is to go preparing your swimsuit (and your fork).
Purobeach, at the Hilton Diagonal Mar (Barcelona)
We may never have the opportunity to stay in one of the luxurious hotels of the Hilton chain, but perhaps we can enjoy a lunch or dinner in one of its restaurants.
The Purobeach is a restaurant located on the second floor of the Hilton Diagonal Mar Hotel. It is a space inspired by Miami, Marrakech and Melbourne and has an area of 2,800 square meters next to a swimming pool. Here you can have a cocktail or a glass of wine with your feet in the water, as if you were Sharpay Evans herself. And is that the magazine “Conde Nast Travel”.
Tres Alzines (La Roca del Vallés)
We have already told you about La Roca Village, and you probably already know this great outlet on the outskirts of Barcelona . What you may not know is that its interior also houses a restaurant with pool and grills that will turn your afternoon at La Roca into a round (and very cool) plan.
The menu has a high level, with many Josper grilled meat dishes, but also specialties such as cod or rice. To eat them you can sit on the terrace, where there is also a swimming pool where you can swim while waiting for your dishes to arrive.

Key Montjuic
Swimming in the middle of Montjuic after a calçotada may sound like an unlikely plan in Barcelona, but it does exist. Just go to the Club Natació Montjuic, where the Key Montjuic restaurant is located with its 29 euros menu with traditional cuisine, with monkfish trunk, calçots in tempura or cargols rostits.
If you also want to accompany the feast with a swim in the pool, you will have to pay an extra (15 euros adults, 11 euros for children) to access to swim in the pool club, a few meters from the restaurant and, thus, happiness will be complete.

Beso Beach
The first floor of the Hotel Melià is now Beso Beach, a sort of artificial beach in the upper area that even has a hammock rental service. A real oasis in Pedralbes where you can go for a swim, have lunch or even use it as a coworking space.

Taste of Picornell
We continue to Montjuïc, where we get Olympic to enter the Piscinas Picornell, the old pools of the 92 Olympic Games. Here they have what you expect from a pool restaurant, popular food, popular prices and a whole day ahead to enjoy the water.
Sandwiches, daily menus at 9,20 or 7,20 and a paella menu for 15 euros. With that, plus the entrance to the pool complex if you are not a member, you have enough to spend the day eating, as they say, with your feet in the water.

Aqqua Martorell
Half an hour’s drive is enough to get to a restaurant complex with swimming pools where you can enjoy a nice Sunday swim. In Martorell, the Aqqua restaurant is part of the municipal swimming pools of Martorell, with a terrace right in front of the water.
At lunch, again, daily and weekend menus with Catalan and Mediterranean cuisine to spend a great weekend eating and bathing.

Wet deck and Sun Deck (Barcelona)
Wet deck, and sun deck. The two decks of the Wela Hotel give you the opportunity to take a bath and have a bite to eat while feeling, for a moment, like the wealthy tourists who overlook the city from this hotel built over the sea, and not, as usual, like the locals who look down on them from below.
Of course, you will have to pay for it. The entrance costs about 50 euros (food apart), which includes access, sun lounger, towel and a drink and, of course, great views over the Barcelona coastline.
📍Plaça de la Rosa dels Vents 1
Bar La Piscina (L’Hospitalet de Llobregat)
Master class of bar and neighborhood pools. In the bar La Piscina the obviousness of the name already informs us that we are in that, in the bar of the municipal swimming pools of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. Homemade food, cold beer and locals and athletes enjoying not having to go up to a rooftop to enjoy delicious food by the water.
