The lament was generalized, but now, according to La Vanguardia, there is a reason to keep the sadness: the building will not disappear, but will reopen as municipal equipment.
The space will be ceded to the Hermandad Andreuenca, the association that brings together various expressions of popular culture rooted in Sant Andreu de Palomar. Initially, it will be used to store the giants and other big heads of the neighborhood. Later it is expected that the station will become a cultural facility that preserves the festive and cultural imagery of Sant Andreu.
The idea, finally, for the Brotherhood Andreuenca, is to create the house of the Festa Major to open the space to other entities of popular culture of Sant Andreu.
The building of the old train station of Sant Andreu Comtal was built in 1854 and is the oldest railway building in service in Spain. Although it had already been decided to keep it standing despite its closure, a decision was pending as to its future use.
