This month, Barcelona (and the surrounding area) is hosting some great festivals. For some, like Sonar, tickets are still available. As for Primavera Sound, even though it’s sold out, it still has a few tricks up its sleeve, as we’ll tell you below.
Did you miss out on Primavera Sound? You can still enjoy its closing party! The closing party for the 2026 edition of the festival looks like this: Carl Cox, Joseph Capriati, BLOND:ISH, and Greta. This lineup is a true statement of intent: on June 6, another Primavera Sound comes to an end; on June 7, the countdown to next year’s festival kicks off with an unmissable daytime party.
Balloon Story is a brand-new immersive exhibition made up of nearly 600,000 biodegradable balloons that recreates environments like the ocean floor, outer space, the jungle, or some of the planet’s most famous landmarks. An activity especially suited for families with children… or adults with a big inner child.
Most cinemas in Barcelona are once again offering the perfect opportunity to enjoy a marathon of new movie releases. For 4 days, most cinemas in the city and surrounding areas are offering tickets at a reduced price, so you can enjoy unlimited movies.
Terrace Week at the Hotels

La Setmana de les Terrasses is celebrating its 15th edition and is the perfect excuse to sneak into the rooftops and urban oases of 58 hotels across the city. Over 120 activities designed exclusively for us locals will take place there: from craft beer tastings and DJ workshops to sunrise yoga sessions and rumba concerts with stunning views. It’s a golden opportunity to rediscover Barcelona from a totally new perspective (and with a drink in hand!).
Want to experience an English Regency-era concert for one night? The event of the season that Lady Whistledown would definitely not miss. Some of the hits from the acclaimed Shondaland series on Netflix sound like never before (and without screens in the way) in this tribute to Bridgerton presented by Candlelight. A magical evening where the light of thousands of candles will seem to follow every note of contemporary hits performed in their most classical style by a professional string quartet. Whether or not you’re the Diamond of this June, this concert will most likely make you feel a little like Daphne in the first season.
+RAIN Film Festival
Artificial Intelligence is now a reality in audiovisual creation, and Barcelona has its own festival dedicated to it. At +RAIN 2026, we’ll be able to attend talks by experts in the field as well as a competitive section of films made with generative AI. There will also be sections dedicated to other arts, such as music or AI-generated installations.
The Sant Joan festival is on June 23, but we can get a head start by sampling the best cocas in the country, which are now official: the 2026 Coques de Sant Joan contest has already taken place (and we were on the judging panel), and several of the winners are from Barcelona. The iconic Pastisseria Hofmann (Carrer dels Flassaders, 44, Barcelona) took first place in the Creative Coca category. Likewise, Pastisseria Faixat (Carrer de Muntaner, 159-161, Barcelona) achieved an outstanding second place in the Coca de Llardons category, while Arenas Molins (Carrer de Berlín, 24, Barcelona) took second prize in the Coca de Crema i Pinyons category. A new show from The Jury Experience, which invites us to be spectators at a murder trial and, with all the witnesses and evidence, decide whether the defendant is guilty or innocent. This time, the murder takes place on a speedboat, and there are three suspects. Accident or murder?

As a prelude to Pride, the 31st edition of FIRE!—Barcelona’s LGTBIQ+ film festival—is here. This year , the festival features some 50 films, including feature-length and short films, representing the best audiovisual productions on these themes from all over the world—from Spain to the U.S., from Argentina to the Netherlands. And this year, with a special focus on queer cinema from Saudi Arabia and Iran.
Meat & Fire!
If meat is your thing, you’ll love Meat & Fire. For three days, Europe’s top grill chefs will cook up their delicacies for everyone to enjoy. Plus, this epic feast is complemented by concerts, talks, and cooking demonstrations to showcase the joys of grilled meat.
If you’re in the mood for a historical event this June (whether or not you’re religious), take note: Pope Leo XIV will visit Barcelona and preside over a solemn mass at the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia on Wednesday, June 10, featuring the blessing of the Tower of Jesus Christ and a drone show at the end. The procession will include a brief ride in the popemobile through the Eixample district and extensive security measures that will cordon off nine city blocks and set up viewing areas.
This immersive experience recreates the eruption of Vesuvius, but it’s much more than that: it’s also a tribute to daily life in a Roman city, showcasing the daily routines of its inhabitants, artifacts from the era, reproductions, and even a virtual reality recreation of an entire house. An activity that strikes a perfect balance between education, art, and entertainment.
The Barcelona International Women’s Film Festival returns to theaters (and online), with “Ruminating Legacies” asits theme. We still have a month ahead of us filled with the most diverse cinema from filmmakers across the globe.
The historic Gran Sarrià cinema has recently reopened in Barcelona, transforming from a traditional multiplex into a unique experience in the city that includes intimate screening rooms (seating a maximum of 80 people), fully reclining armchairs, and a lounge with delicacies. Without a doubt, an ideal way to beat the heat in comfort, enjoying new releases (dubbed and in the original version) at a cinema like few others.
With the nice weather, you’ll be in the mood for the beach, the pool, and day trips… You can go to more conventional spots or (if you dare) visit some abandoned places just a stone’s throw from Barcelona. Old hospitals, casinos, water parks… Liminal places to take unique photos or, who knows, maybe run into a wandering spirit.
Talents Jazz at La Pedrera
A must-see event that fills Gaudí’s most iconic rooftop with live music to supportemerging talents on the jazz scene (in collaboration with schools like the Liceu, the Taller de Músics, and the ESMUC). But it doesn’t end with the concert: the experience begins with a self-guided tour of the building’s impressive attic rooms, where you can immerse yourself in the world of the modernist genius, and culminates on the rooftop with a glass of cava while you enjoy the performance with Barcelona at your feet.

This photography festival in Sant Cugat del Vallès returns at the end of the month as a gathering place for photography lovers. It takes over the city to explore the art of photography, with a full program featuring exhibitions, talks, workshops, and panel discussions. Visitors will be able to enjoy works by established and emerging artists, both national and international.
If you ’re looking for a surprising group experience, SENSAS is a great option. It’s not an immersive experience, nor an escape room, nor a scavenger hunt… but at the same time, it’s all of these (and more). In this game, through sensory challenges, we’ll overcome obstacles that are not only fun but also support a very good cause… and that’s all I can say for now.
