Sing your heart out at one of the mega-concerts coming to Barcelona

If there’s one thing Barcelona knows, it’s how to put on a great concert. The city is more than accustomed to welcoming renowned artists to its always crowded Montjuïc.
The Palau Sant Jordi and the Estadi Olimpic Lluís Companys are experts at hosting the singers and bands most loved by Spanish fans. Last year, big names such as Coldplay and Beyoncé passed through their dressing rooms, and 2024 will be no different.
A few days ago, we learned that Karol G will give two concerts in Barcelona, after selling out in record time in Madrid. But she won’t be the only one. In 2024, Luis Miguel, Andrea Bocelli, Olivia Rodrigo, Maná, J Balvin, and Rammstein will also perform in Barcelona.
Try what will be the dish of the moment in 2024: focaccia

2023 was undoubtedly the year of New York rolls and smash burgers. Over the past year, Barcelona was flooded with these delicacies, conquering Instagram, TikTok, and all the cool places in the city. They were unstoppable! But watch out, because in 2024, focaccia will be the new star.
Trust us, we’ve been in this business for years and we know how the gastronomic scene in the Catalan capital works. And now, in 2024, it’s time for focaccia: that Italian sandwich filled with mortadella, burrata, stracciatella, pistachio, prosciutto, or really any ingredient you can think of.
In Barcelona, a few spots specializing in focaccia have already opened, such as the delicious Mr Focaccia on Carrer de Blai and La Focaccia on Carrer de Castellnou. As you can see, their names aren’t particularly original, but their creations are well worth trying.
Visit the exhibitions coming to Barcelona this year

Last December , after 13 years of closure, Barcelona’s oldest museum reopened: the former Geology Museum in Parc de la Ciutadella.
Coinciding with this opening, and in the same place—at the same location and at the same time— the Hivernacle has also opened,an exhibition space that will bring science and other disciplines to this central point of the city. 2024 is the year to visit both places.
Starting in February, there will also be many other exhibitions that you will surely want to visit: Sorolla, a new dimension, the immersive experience dedicated to the Valencian painter; and the Fundació Antoni Tapiès will bring new contemporary art exhibitions.
Enjoy a Candlelight concert by candlelight
If you missed the opportunity in 2023, make sure it’s one of your priorities when you arrive in Barcelona in 2024. The Candlelight concert series, which has illuminated the city’s most iconic venues with candles for years, will continue its fascinating musical tributes throughout the new year.
The classic tributes to Vivaldi, Ennio Morricone, and Coldplay will continue to take place at venues such as the Real Círculo Artístico, the Basilica of Santa Maria del Pi, and the Recinto Modernista de Sant Pau. However, that’s not all. In 2024, exciting new developments are on the horizon, such as tributes to pop with Ñ, Bad Bunny, and La Oreja de Van Gogh. Don’t miss out!

Splurge at one of Barcelona’s Michelin-starred restaurants

At the end of November, the names of the restaurants in Barcelona that obtained a Michelin star for the first time and those that maintained or won their second or third were revealed. Among these outstanding titles are Cocina Hermanos Torres (with three stars), Disfrutar (with two) and Lluerna (with one).
All of these establishments offer menus, and sampling them is one of the most memorable experiences you can have in Barcelona in 2024. Although it may not seem like it, there are options to suit almost every budget. You can opt for absolute luxury, but there are also much more affordable options. Trust us!
Go ahead and visit that monument you always pass by and think, “I’ll go there someday.”
It happens to you, it happens to all of us. You live near an imposing building whose exact function you don’t know. You frequent the bars next to an impressive church whose name you can’t remember. You work on the same street as a small museum that you’ve never bothered to explore. How about we make 2024 the year we discover those little wonders we come across in our daily lives?
You don’t need your aunt from the village to come and visit for you to go inside the Palau de la Música; it’s time to explore those monuments or buildings that you always put off for another day. Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today, my friend.
Let’s become responsible tourists in our own city and end the day with some delicious patatas bravas after enjoying a tour of the Cathedral of the Sea, the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site, or the Royal Academy of Pharmacy.
Try the typical food of a new country
Barcelona, in culinary terms, is a true paradise. Beyond the servings of pa amb tomàquet and Mediterranean dishes, the city’s size and diversity offer an international gastronomic experience that is almostas variedas theTupperware containers that pass through El Prat airport security every day.
In the city center, Indian and Chinese restaurants abound; those serving Lebanese or Japanese dishes are becoming increasingly popular; and on every corner, we come across kebabs, pizzas, Mexican tacos, or Argentine empanadas. An infinite variety of typical dishes from different parts of the world that we could begin to savor in 2024.
